Happy New Year, everyone! Last few months have been kind of slow. I had to take up a full-time job to secure the finances for further development of the game. Therefore, I was not able to work on the game as much as I would have liked. But it is not dead. We were perhaps too optimistic with the initial plans for a 2017 release, but hopefully we can manage to release an alpha version in 2018. I will stay at the current job for one or two more months, and then we should have enough finances for about a year of full-time development. Which means, the full-time development should resume at the latest by the end of the march. You can also expect more regular (and more frequent) updates then. Until then, we thank you for your support and patience. Take care.
We have added an entry for Orbital Raid at Indie DB. You can check it out at the following link:

I have always loved space games. From classical trading simulators like Elite or X series, to 4X strategies like Master of Orion or Galactic Civilizations to real-time strategies like Homeworld or Sins of a Solar Empire. That’s why I’ve always wanted to make my own space game. Orbital Raid is a real-time space strategy game for PC that we are currently developing. You will be able to mine resources from asteroids or planets, build your bases and units to ultimately defeat your opponents. Choose between three factions, and play against computer in skirmishes, or other people in a multiplayer mode. In short, all the good stuff that you can do in real-time strategies.
But the main selling point of this game is its ability to seamlessly transition between space action and combat and planetary ground action and combat. To be able to do this we have developed our own unique game engine. You can watch some previews of it in action in the gallery. Furthermore, planets will have realistic scales, and navigation of units in space will be three dimensional. We believe that this will make for a unique and interesting gameplay. Commence a planetary bombardment from orbit. Deploy your ground units, and invade enemy’s planetary bases. Build surface-to-space weapons or ground defenses against invading forces, etc.
So what is the next plan? We would like to release the first alpha version of the game in the 4th quarter of 2017. To fulfill this goal, we will be launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign soon. In the meantime you can support the development of this game by spreading the word on social media of your choice or elsewhere.
